Labor and Delivery

The goal of our Labor and Delivery staff is that each family has a safe and satisfying delivery experience. We recognize that as each situation is unique, so is their delivery. All of our labor nurses are trained to work with women choosing natural childbirth, as well as those choosing medication options for pain control. Someone is always available in house from the anesthesia department to administer epidural anesthesia when desired by the patient.

The labor nurses are also trained in fetal monitoring and how to respond to medical and obstetric emergencies. Our very talented and compassionate labor nurses have many years of experience in their specialty, and our stagfing patterns allow for very low nurse to patient ratios - freeing the nurses to be available to their patients as needed.

We have 20 private, comfortable, and well equipped birthing suites. There are also two OR rooms available on the unit for our planned and emergent Cesarean deliveries.

Because we want to meet your expectation for your delivery, we do encourage you to make an appointment with the Nurse Navigator, Jane Unterreiner, to discuss your plans and desires for your special delivery. This appointment will also include a tour of the unit to familiarize you with the environment.
