Bariatric Support Group
SoutheastHEALTH is offering a special support group for patients who have undergone or are considering bariatric weight-loss surgery. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss issues, share successes and trade helpful hints in an overall supportive environment. The group meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month and is facilitated by Raina Childers, MS, RD, LD, and Mary Etta Dunaway, RD, LD, CDE, registered dietitians with SoutheastHEALTH. Diabetes Self-Management Support Group
This group meets the second Tuesday of the month from 1:00-2:00 PM in the Diabetes Center. For more information or to register, call Janet Stewart at 339-0121.
Grief Support Groups
These groups offer a safe place where adults come together to share their grief following the death of a loved one. Trained facilitators offer educational programs and an opportunity to share and heal. The group offers participants understanding, support and hope. Managing life while living with a cancer diagnosis can be challenging for adults with cancer, their family members and friends/caregivers. In conjunction with the American Cancer Society’s I Can Cope educational series, group participants learn about topics relevant to meeting these challenges in a structured educational program while benefitting from informal discussion and supportive conversation.
Mended Hearts Club
Mended Hearts is a national, non-profit service organization designed to provide continuing education and emotional support for heart patients and their families. SHARE Grief Support Group
This support group, for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, still birth, neonatal death and ectopic pregnancy. Group meets during Grief Support Group meeting every second Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church or the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape. United Ostomy Association
This group meets the second Wednesday of each month at Southeast Hospital. A volunteer organization, UOA’s goal is to reduce the practical and emotional burdens of those who have undergone ostomy surgery so they may function as fully as possible socially and physically.
