Health and Medical Benefits

Surgical Options

According to minimum requirements for bariatric surgery set by the National Institutes of Health, candidates for bariatric surgery must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and…
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater or…
  • Have a BMI of 35 or greater with one or more obesity related health conditions

Other qualifying factors include:

  • History of documented dietary weight loss attempts
  • Lifelong commitment to dietary, exercise and medical guidelines and follow-up care after surgery
  • Psychological evaluation

Non-Surgical Option

Starting Point is a medically supervised program based on the most current scientific research in medical, nutritional and behavioral studies of Health & Nutrition Technology. This program is open to all individuals wish to lose between 20 and 200 pounds. Unlike similar programs with diet plans, our medical staff can assist participants with medical conditions.
