Radiologic technologist Matt Younger, ASR, RT(R), has been awarded a $5,000 Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in diagnostic imaging.
The scholarship is one of only four such scholarships awarded nationwide by the ASRT Foundation. The Jackson resident says he is taking online classes through Cox College in Springfield, Mo., to complete his degree while working in the Imaging Department at Southeast Hospital.
“This Siemens scholarship has been a real and much needed blessing,” Matt notes.
SoutheastHEALTH Imaging Director Tammy Homan says, “We are all very proud of Matt. He arrives each day with a smile on his face and is engaged in his work. Matt is a lifelong learner and we are proud of his educational endeavors.”
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be medical imaging professionals seeking to enhance their clinical practice skills and provide excellent patient care. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in radiological sciences or a certificate program in a specialty discipline such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance or sonography.
Scholarship recipients were chosen based on evidence of commitment, leadership, achievement and financial need.
