HealthPoint Fitness Offers 'Heart Month' Specials
HealthPoint Fitness will offer several “Heart Month” specials in February, including a discounted enrollment fee, discounted massage and free blood pressure screenings.
You and your family can join HealthPoint Fitness for only a $10 enrollment fee in February. The fitness membership includes access to both Cape and Jackson HealthPoint facilities, three fitness sessions with a HealthPoint trainer and a nutritional assessment.

Free Blood Pressure Screenings
HealthPoint will provide free blood pressure screenings at the fitness centers in Cape and Jackson every Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m. during the month of February. Just stop by the front desk at either location and our staff will assist you.

Southeast Hospital to Host 'Scrapbook Crop'
A “Scrapbook Crop” will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, to aid the SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary in its support of the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries’ project on epilepsy. Admission is a $5 donation.
The “Scrapbook Crop” will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Hospital. Bring your supplies – photos, adhesives, embellishments, cutting machines, etc. – and Southeast will provide the work tables. Have fun sharing ideas and techniques with fellow scrappers.

Diabetes Self-Management Support Group to Focus on New Guidelines for Heart Health
SoutheastHEALTH cardiac staff will review the latest guidelines for promoting health and preventing cardiovascular disease at a presentation to the Diabetes Self-Management Support Group.
The group will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. This free support group is facilitated by Southeast’s diabetes educators. It’s geared toward people who are living with diabetes and trying to control blood glucose.

Hands Only CPR – Stayin' Alive
SoutheastHEALTH will offer “Hands Only CPR” at six public sessions throughout the region in February.
This free, hour-long program is open to participants of all ages. Participants will learn hands-only CPR and use of AED (automated external defibrillator) as well as signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke.

Starting Point to Hold Informational Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 12
Starting Point will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. This is a great opportunity to learn more about this successful, weight-management program.
This free session will focus on the Starting Point class that will begin in March.
Starting Point offers a comprehensive approach to successful health and weight management. It is a medically supervised program for rapid and safe weight loss with skill building that teaches participants how to keep the weight off.

Healthy Cooking Class: Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate
The Healthy Cooking class at HealthPoint – Cape will focus on “chocolate, chocolate, chocolate” on Monday, Feb. 16. The class will be held from 6 to 7:15 p.m.
Come to an evening of healthy indulgence. HealthPoint Nutritional Services Coordinator Raina Childers, MS, RD, LD, will explain the different types of chocolate and their health benefits, as well as prepare a few treats with this favorite ingredient.

HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson to Hold Parents’ Night Out
Need an evening without the kids? Go out for a night on the town feeling confident that your little ones are safe and having a great time at Parents’ Night Out on Friday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson.
The evening will be filled with games, activities, crafts and more for children, ages 3 to 12. Don’t worry about dinner: HealthPoint will take care of that too.
