System-Wide Food Drive Huge Success
December 09, 2015
The drive is over and the results are in!
During the month of November, SoutheastHEALTH partnered with the Southeast Missouri Food Bank, conducting a system-wide food drive.
Food Bank barrels were placed at 17 locations in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Dexter, Poplar Bluff, Doniphan and Ellington. Many other offices and clinics collected food items at their locations as well.
Drum roll……a total of 3,640 pounds of food and other items was donated by our generous SoutheastHEALTH family!
Food collected in each community will remain in that community for distribution by designated agencies to those in need of a helping hand.
The Southeast Medical Group – Pediatrics, Pulmonology/ENT, Primary Care, OB/GYN, Campus Clinic, Jackson Convenient Care, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Neurology, HealthWorks, Practice Management and GI – held a spirited competition. The office of Dr. Ken DeCoursey collected the most items – 612. All told, the group collected a whopping 2,506 food or other needed items.
Within the Hospital, the Cath Lab collected the largest amount of items to help feed our neighbors in need.
To everyone who donated, thank you!
