SoutheastHEALTH Receives $42,583 Donation from Cape Girardeau IHOP
May 26, 2016
Andy and Anissa Patel, owners of the IHOP restaurant in Cape Girardeau, recently donated $42,583 to the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund.
The team of compassionate healthcare experts at the Southeast Cancer Center treat more than 700 patients from throughout the region every year. The Cancer Care Fund helps provide for the special needs of patients who are battling cancer. Assistance ranges from transportation, lodging, nutritional supplements, medications, emergency housing needs and much more.
Helping those along the cancer journey has always been a “passion for Andy and myself,” says Anissa Patel. “At some point in our lives, cancer touches all of us in one way or another. We have had family members and employees who have fought cancer. Some recovered, but others passed away. We wanted to offer help to patients and families as they courageously face the challenges that a cancer diagnosis brings.”
SoutheastHEALTH Executive Director Patti Ranzini expressed thanks for the Patels’ exceptional generosity. “Thanks in large measure to the giving spirit of Andy and Anissa Patel, local friends and families who now must include cancer as a part of their lives will have the help and support they need. Funds like these support the patient experience programs at Southeast Cancer Center which focus on connecting with patients and families on such a personal and caring level that they become like family.”
