SoutheastHEALTH has named Sunil Mungee Director of Physician Business Development. In his new role, Mungee will foster and further enhance business development and physician recruitment and also will develop training and planning activities related to the installation of a new Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Chief Medical Officer Matt Shoemaker, DO, says Mungee comes to SoutheastHEALTH with an outstanding professional background that includes 12 years of successful practice management and business development. “His expertise will be a valuable resource as we continue to grow our physician practices to meet the increasing healthcare demands of our region while continuing to offer high quality care, at an affordable cost, close to home.”
Mungee adds that his passion of providing excellent patient care “is only possible when you serve in an organization that has similar core values. SoutheastHEALTH’s mission reflects its unwavering commitment to provide quality, compassionate and affordable care. In my role I will continuously work toward fulfilling our mission as a community hospital and improving the health and wellness of those we are privileged to serve.”
Mungee holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Aspen University in Denver, CO. Prior to joining the SoutheastHEALTH staff, he served as an executive consultant with Southeast. During that time his many successes included consolidating patient forms for all outpatient physician practices, resulting in less paperwork for patients upon registration and created a Physician Advisory Group to ensure effective implementation of the EMR project. Mungee also facilitated standardizing the process for locum tenens physicians by negotiating and reducing overall costs for various departments.
