Brazilian physicians and a medical physicist were guests at the Southeast Cancer Center on March 14. The group, representing the Evangelical Hospital of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (Heci), located in Espirito Santo, met with Southeast Cancer Center Chief Physicist Sam Hancock, Ph.D., Chief Physicist, Joseph Miller, MD, Radiation Oncology Medical Director, Mark Mayhew, Dosimetrist and Jennifer Ewert, Cancer Center Director.
The Evangelical Hospital will soon be utilizing world-renowned Elekta technology. They traveled to Cape Girardeau with Elekta representative Leonardo Chamas to learn more about the advanced treatment technologies available with Elekta. Dr. Hancock is nationally recognized as an expert in spatial accuracy using linear accelerators.
Radiation Oncology physician Dr. Cesar Canary, who is with Evangelical Hospital, said his group was very impressed with the Southeast Cancer Center. “It is very beautiful – a marvelous facility,” he commented.
