PCT Program Now Accepting Applications for Next Class

June 29, 2018

The College's Patient Care Technician program encourages qualified individuals to apply for admission to the program by July 23, 2018. Classes for the eight week program will start the week of July 30.

The Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (Clinical Partner/Patient Care Technician) training prepares students for employment in an acute care setting. This training teaches skills in patient care that qualify the student to assist the registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurse in direct patient care. The student will learn how to perform uncomplicated nursing procedures. This training requires a minimum full-time commitment for eight weeks from the participants. It combines five weeks of intensive classroom instruction with three weeks of clinical practice. This program satisfies the requirement of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. After completion of the eight week course, each student will have the option to enroll in a two week EKG/arrhythmia technician training course and/or a two week phlebotomy course.

Additional information may be found on the Patient Care Technician Fact Sheet. Applicants may download the Patient Care Technician Application Packet for the checklist of required items and the application forms. Applicants may also have their questions answered by contacting abeussink@sehcollege.edu or tbuttry@sehcollege.edu.
