Benefits

Employees will be required to produce the following documents when adding a dependent and/or spouse to SoutheastHEALTH insurance plans:

  • Birth Certificates: If any of your dependents last names differs from yours you will need to provide a copy of their birth certificates for them to be eligible for health insurance coverage or for the hospital discount. Please bring a copy with you to your first day of General Hospital Orientation.

Health Insurance

SoutheastHEALTH offers medical insurance for eligible employees. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

Dental Insurance

SoutheastHEALTH offers dental insurance for eligible employees. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

Vision Insurance

SoutheastHEALTH offers vision insurance for eligible employees. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

Life Insurance

SoutheastHEALTH provides life insurance for eligible employees. Employees also have the option to purchase additional life insurance. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

Short-term Disability

SoutheastHEALTH provides short-term disability protection coverage to cover against loss of income due to a non-occupational disability or illness for eligible employees. This is provided at no cost to full-time employees, part-time employees will pay 50% of this benefit. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment

Long-term Disability

SoutheastHEALTH provides eligible employees long-term disability protection against loss of income due to a disability after 180 days of missed work. Long-term disability will provide 40 percent of the employee's basic monthly earnings at no cost to them. Employees also have the option to buy up to 60 percent of the employee’s basic monthly earnings. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 1 year of employment

Cafeteria 125 Plan

Pretax savings through the calendar year for medical, dental and vision insurance premiums. Healthcare reimbursement and dependent care reimbursement elections can also be withheld on a pretax basis.

Flexible Spending Account

Voluntary pretax savings over the calendar year for medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Dependent Care Spending Account

Voluntary pretax savings through the calendar year for child care.

Retirement Plan

SoutheastHEALTH participates in a 403(b) retirement plan in which participants have the option to make Pre-tax Elective Deferrals and/or Roth Elective Deferrals. Southeast will make a discretionary contribution equal to 2% of gross wages at no cost to you. Additionally participating employees will be eligible for matching contributions equal to 100% of elective contributions up to 1% of compensation and 50% of elective contributions between 1% and 6% of compensation. Employees are fully invested after one year of employment. Eligibility for both employee contributions as well as employer contributions begins immediately upon employment.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Eligible employees accrue paid time off (PTO) based on hours worked.

Critical Illness Benefit

Employees receive a cash, lump-sum benefit for the diagnosis of an eligible condition. Eligibility of this benefit is based on full-time status and medical plan enrollment. This policy is provided by SoutheastHEALTH and becomes effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Accidental Injury Benefit

Employees receive a cash, lump-sum benefit to help cover expenses from life’s unexpected events. Eligibility of this benefit is based on full-time status and medical plan enrollment. This policy is provided by SoutheastHEALTH and becomes effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Funeral Leave Benefit

Full-time benefit eligible employees receive up to three consecutive days off (defined as 8 hours per day) for a death in the immediate family.

Jury Duty Benefit

Employees receive up to 10 days difference in pay between employee's wages and jury duty pay.

Credit Union

Employees are eligible to join the credit union on date of employment.

Employee Discount

Employees receive a discount in cafeteria and gift shop in Cape Girardeau.
