Circle of Eight - Reach Out to Those You Love
1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime
Stay vigilant about your own health, and help hold your loved ones accountable for theirs by forming a Circle of Eight.
It’s easy to get started. Just choose eight women and on the eighth day of every month, remind your circle to attend to their breast health by performing a self-exam or by scheduling a mammogram. By banding together, we can help detect breast cancer earlier and increase the odds of survival.
Run for Ragan
The fourth annual Run for Ragan was held on Saturday, October 1, 2016. It included a 5K run, an 8K run, a one-mile timed Kids Fun Run and one-mile Memory and Honor Walk. The funds raised will help aid in the fight against breast cancer through early detection and will benefit SoutheastHEALTH Foundation’s Cancer Patient Experience Fund that provides necessary support and resources for current cancer patients and those that cannot afford them.
The Run for Ragan commemorates Ragan Ward Neilson’s life, her battle with cancer and her death. The event serves to provide support for women suffering from breast cancer. One goal of the event is to raise awareness so that women will be vigilant about their own health. Another goal is to promote the best possible care.

The Bravest Wear Pink
Our cancer team is committed to breast health throughout the year and especially in October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our goals are to raise awareness, help women 40 years of age and older get screened, and help raise money for current cancer patients’ unmet needs.
We partner with our region’s fire, police and emergency medical services teams to help spread the message that “Mammograms save lives too.” The region’s bravest will wear pink T-shirts to support women and encourage them to schedule their mammograms. We also sell "Mammograms Save Lives" T-shirts to benefit the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation Cancer Fund, which provides necessary support and resources for current cancer patients and those that cannot afford preventive screening.
