Critical Care at SoutheastHEALTH
The Critical Care Unit at SoutheastHEALTH is a state-of-the-art unit equipped with the latest medical technology and is staffed by highly trained medical professionals who specialize in caring for critically ill patients. The Critical Care Center houses two intensive care units:
- 12-bed Cardiac Care Unit (CTU)
- 14-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

eICU CARE is a continuous, collaborative monitoring program that is done using video monitoring and electronic interface within our Cerner Millennium EHR System. Avera eICU will be involved in the care of all ICU and CTU patients at SoutheastHEALTH.
38 Intensivist physicians are credentialed at SoutheastHEALTH and will provide virtual support to our bedside ICU staff providing 24/7 a week care. The Intensivists work 12 hour shifts and shift changes are 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (central time).
