About four and a half years ago, Jackie Gould received a Facebook post from a good friend who was looking for a workout buddy. As luck would have it, Jackie had just quit smoking and wanted to improve her health.
Since that time, she has been a member of HealthPoint Fitness and an avid participant in the many fitness options offered by HealthPoint. “I am at the gym at 5 a.m. in the morning. Not because I love getting up so early, but because my friends are there and hold me accountable,” says Jackie. “I would find too many excuses not to exercise if I waited until the end of the day.”
This group of “early birds” enjoys a combination of group classes, aquatics, pickle ball and strength training. “Sometimes we meet at HealthPoint and walk outside…the variety of offerings keeps us from getting bored. And, there is always a chance to meet others who have similar interests. It is fun to be part of a group of women of all ages who care about their health and work to improve their fitness,” Jackie noted.
Jackie is also a two-time graduate of Starting Point Weight Loss Program. “It is a fantastic program. I lost weight the first time, but later found myself reverting to old lifestyle habits. I decided to give the program another try, and this time, I really understand what the instructors mean when they talk about a lifetime commitment to making changes in our food choices.”
