SoutheastHEALTH has announced the appointment of Allison Remley, M.S., CCC-SLP as Program Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation unit.
Remley’s broad spectrum of experience includes more than 14 years in healthcare and management, most recently Director of Rehabilitation at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
In her new role, Remley says inpatient rehab will, “focus on providing high quality, evidence-based care to help patients regain the highest level of function. Upon admission, our interdisciplinary team of psychiatry, nursing, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, pharmacy, and a discharge coordinator work together to prepare individualized plans of care to optimize patient outcomes. I’m excited to join such a positive, goal-oriented team. ”
Remley holds Master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Southern Illinois University –Carbondale with a minor in psychology and an Illinois type 10 teaching degree. In addition, she holds an associate’s degree in science in business and an associates in arts. She is certified in in tracheo-esophageal puncture (TEP) voice restoration, fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), myofascial release therapy, vital stimulation, and advanced vital stimulation.
Her professional affiliations include the chairperson for the Missouri chapter of the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, in which she has earned three Awards of Continuing Education.
