Patient Care Technician
The Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (Patient Care Technician) training program prepares for employment in an acute care hospital. This training teaches skills to assist the registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurse in direct patient care.
This training requires a minimum full-time commitment for five (5) weeks. It combines 75 hours of classroom instruction with 100 hours of hands-on clinical practice. This program satisfies the requirement of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for unlicensed assistive personnel.
Eligibility Requirements
- Completion of a high school diploma or an approved high school equivalency exam
- Provide documentation of all required immunizations
- Clearance on relevant background checks
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
