Vascular Problems We Treat

Our vascular surgeons and other specialists provide a wide range of care for vascular problems, such as:

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), an enlargement of a large artery in the abdomen that can cause a fatal rupture
Carotid and subclavian artery stenosis—blocked neck arteries that can cause a stroke
Leg-vein and artery problems, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) and chronic venous insufficiency
Renal, iliac, celiac and mesenteric artery stenosis—blocked kidney arteries that may lead to high blood pressure or cause kidney disease

Often, we start with noninvasive treatments, such as diet, exercise and medications.

But if a procedure would improve your condition, we have the expertise and advanced technology to help you.

For example, our specialists use catheters (flexible wires) to repair AAAs and open blocked neck, leg and kidney arteries. We can also perform peripheral artery bypass surgery.

Diagnostic Tests and Vascular Screenings

We offer a variety of tests to diagnose and evaluate vascular diseases. You may need a test if you have symptoms, such as leg pain while walking, or risk factors, such as a history of smoking.

In most cases, you will first need a noninvasive imaging test to find the potential vascular problem.

Tests we offer include carotid, abdominal aortic, and venous and arterial ultrasounds. These safe and painless tests use sound waves to see inside the arteries of your neck, abdomen or legs.

We also provide screenings for PAD, carotid artery disease and AAA at locations throughout the community. The need for screening depends on your risk factors. Ask your surgeon what's right for you. The cost for all three screenings is $110 or $50 for an individual screening. Osteoporosis screening is available for an additional $30. There are a limited number of screenings available.
