Home Health

Southeast Home Health is a nonprofit agency that provides high-quality healthcare in the comfort of your home. We can help you be as independent as possible when you're recovering from an illness or injury or living with a chronic health condition.

We are licensed by the state of Missouri and accredited through The Joint Commission. Our commitment to safe, quality care shows in our accreditation, awards and patient satisfaction. We've earned the People's Choice Award for Home Health Services in Cape Girardeau County every year since 2014.

Our Home Health Care Services

Southeast Home Health offers services in 16 counties. Our services include:

Skilled nursing care. During home visits, a nurse will check on your health, review your medications and carry out the care plan your provider ordered. Our nurses are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if you need them.

Personal care. Our home health aides can help with things like bathing and grooming. However, we don't offer housekeeping services.

Safety checks. When we visit your house, we can help make sure your living environment is safe for you. For example, we can identify risks such as things that could cause you to fall.

Nutrition counseling. Our team can help you with healthy food choices.

Therapy. Our team has physical, occupational and speech therapists. And one of our physical therapists is a Geriatric Certified Specialist.

Because we're a hospital-based agency, your home health team has quick access to other medical specialists, if needed.

Do You Qualify for Home Health Care?

Ask your Provider if home health is right for you. You may qualify if you:

  • Can be safely cared for at home
  • Need the skilled care of a registered nurse or physical therapist as a result of an injury, illness or surgery
  • Need services from a home health professional on an intermittent basis or have family members or caregivers who can be taught to provide ongoing care

Most insurances pay for home health. This includes Medicare, Medicaid, VA insurance, workers' compensation and private insurance.

Our staff will contact your insurer to determine coverage and payment and inform you before services begin.
