Hip Services

When you have hip pain, it's often hard to think about anything else. At Southeast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we understand. Our experts are here to ease that pain and to get you back to enjoying your life.

Personalized Hip Care

Our specialists treat a variety of problems that can affect the hips. These include:

  • Arthritis
  • Fractures
  • Muscle and tendon strains
  • Labrum injury
  • Aseptic necrosis of the hip

While we perform total hip replacements and labrum repairs, we often turn to conservative treatment options first. It all starts with your initial meeting with our care team.

We take the time to get to know you and understand your hip issues. This includes taking a complete medical history and performing a physical exam. We'll look at your range of motion and strength, and order radiology and other diagnostic tests. The goal is to get an accurate picture of your hip health.

Nonsurgical Treatments and Hip Replacement

When a nonsurgical approach to hip care is best, SoutheastHEALTH offers orthobiologic treatments. Options include platelet-rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate. These therapies can help the body heal itself.

When surgery is the best choice, our hospital is ready. We're one of the first programs in the state offering the OR3OTM dual mobility hip system, which increases stability and improves range of motion. Your total hip arthroplasty can happen close to home with hip surgeons trained in the latest techniques. You'll also have personalized attention at every step of the process.

Our nurse navigator partners with patients having total hip replacement. She educates patients and their families on what to expect and answers questions about the surgery and process. After the procedure, she checks in to make sure everything is going well. Patients can always call her directly for quick access and knowledgeable care.

In addition, we offer a class for people preparing for hip replacement. At this time, you'll meet with a physical therapist and learn more about the process, recovery time and rehab.
