Knee Services
When one or both of your knees don't work the way they should, the discomfort and pain can affect your well-being and your livelihood.
At Southeast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we are here to get you—and your knees—back on track.
When You Need a Knee Doctor
Our specialists treat many knee conditions. These include:
- Fractures
- Patella dislocation
- Ligament sprains
- Tendon and muscle strains
- Meniscus injury
- Arthritis
As part of our commitment to personalized care, our orthopedic team will take the time to get to know you and develop a complete understanding of your health. Your first visit will include taking a history and performing a physical exam. We'll look at your range of motion, strength and order radiology and other diagnostic tests. Once we determine the source of your knee trouble, we'll work with you to create a treatment plan that meets your specific needs.
Treatments for Knee Pain and Conditions
Many people with problematic knees start with conservative care. This can include physical therapy, braces and injections. We also provide orthobiologic therapies. Platelet-rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate can help the body heal itself.
When surgery is the best option, we offer total knee replacement, cartilage transplants, meniscus and ligament repairs.
Our nurse navigator works closely with patients preparing for knee replacement. She educates patients and their families about the process and lets them know what to expect. After surgery, she checks in to ensure everything is going well. This personalized care extends after people get home. Patients can call her directly with questions or concerns.
In addition, we offer a class designed for people getting ready for knee replacement. The session includes visiting with a physical therapist and learning more about the process, recovery time and rehab. Every person’s experience is different, but we’re here for you every step of the way.
Your Knee Surgeons
The friendly orthopedic team at SoutheastHEALTH includes several specialists. Physical therapists, board-certified advanced practice providers, knee surgeons and sports medicine physicians are all focused on your well-being. When you need a doctor for knee pain, we have you covered.
A bone health specialist also provides care to our high-risk patients. People with fragile bones, osteoporosis or unstable knees may get extra support from this expert. This specialized care isn't available at most hospitals.
