Simone also was recognized by a patient’s family for her attentive, caring manner.
“We first came in contact with Simone on 5H when my husband was admitted for kidney surgery. She is funny, kind and very caring. Always has a smile on her face. It was comforting for him to get to know her and know he would get good care when she came in the room.
She was particularly attentive to his needs at all times. Anytime I would just meet her in one of the many long hallways, she spoke and asked me how he was doing. One time when I was having a bad moment, she came with some chi tea and told me it would make me feel better. When he got moved to IRT unit she stopped by to check on him!
She told me she was moving to the OB unit and was very excited. It is 5H’s loss and the OB Unit’s gain. Some people do make a difference in a patient’s care and she is definitely one of these people.
