Sylvia Crader
Sylvia Crader, a Restorative Technician on Inpatient Rehab, has received the Sunshine Award. This award, presented May 11, celebrates the exceptional care given by these team members every day.
Sylvia was cited for going above and beyond to pamper her patients and give them the special attention they deserve. A fellow employee says, “Even on busy days, Sylvia takes time and happily offers to take patients outside and sit with them. It means the world to patients, especially when they have been in the hospital for a while.
Even more specifically, she took time after a patient's treatment to give her a thorough bed bath, peri care, foot soak bath and shower, combed her hair and put it up for her-‘the works.’ The patient was so grateful.
There are numerous occasions that Sylvia takes time after treatments to perform oral care, soak patients’ nails and/or clean their feet. She will buy patients clothes with her own money and go get special treats/cookies from the cafeteria for the patients (after checking with the nurse, of course).
Sylvia is always willing to come in early or stay late with staff if needed. She is amazing and most deserving! She is very caring and has a BIG heart!”
