Jaime Holloway is a member of the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff”s Office. In her role as the detective assigned to domestic abuse and sexual violence cases, Jaime’s job is not only physically taxing but emotionally stressful.
To relieve that stress and build strength and stamina, she makes time to work out at HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson. Jaime heads to the fitness center around the noon hour to lift weights or walk on the tread mill. “I find that daily exercise helps me release some tension and lets me better focus on my job the rest of the day.
She also has high praise for the HealthPoint staff. “They make you feel welcome and comfortable here, so it is more fun to work out.”
“Ryan Kloeppel (personal trainer) helped me put together an exercise plan that targets my upper body and it has really worked,” Jaime explained. The result has been extra strength to help in her professional and her personal life as well. “My family enjoys water skiing, but last year I didn’t have the strength to shalom ski. This year, I shalom skied all summer,” she smiled.
Her next goal is to participate in a “Tough Mudder” in May, 2020. She has joined a group of her fellow law enforcement officers who are training for the obstacle course competition.
Jaime and her husband are life-long residents of the area and her family owned a local business until retirement in August. “I could have followed in their footsteps and joined the family business, but I truly love the work I do. I see many difficult situations, but being able to provide assistance and hope for people is what I love about my job.”
