Ask Brad Friese with the Cape HealthPoint Fitness laundry staff how many loads of laundry he does a day and he will tell you, “a lot.” It’s a little bit more than that. On a typical day at HealthPoint in Cape, about 30 loads of laundry are processed in commercial washing machines. That’s more than 60 loads in a home washing machine!
Brad has been a HealthPoint team member for more than 11 years. In his position, members and staff count on him to make sure there are plenty of clean towels for the fitness floor and men’s locker room as well as clean sheets and pillow cases for both Rehab and Occupational Medicine. Brad also sees that stuffed animals and towels from the childcare area are clean and ready for little hands.
Brad joined the HealthPoint team when his grandmother noticed a job opening. He enjoys his work and likes talking baseball and sports with members. “I like to visit with members,” he says. “Everyone is very friendly.”
Just this year, Brad started on a fitness program of his own, working with personal trainer Chris Brockmire. “I need to trim down a little,” he admits with a smile, “and Chris is helping me do that.”
When Brad is not working, he enjoys catching his favorite TV shows, going to the movies and to the mall. And he’s doing something else as well. Brad is writing a book about a super hero. “I’m big into super heroes. I thought, ‘There’s Marvel and DC, why not me?’” The book is a work in progress, with Brad tweaking the storyline to make it an even better read and looking forward to its completion and, hopefully, publication.
Asked what he would tell a prospective member about HealthPoint Fitness, Brad was quick to reply. “HealthPoint is one of the best gyms in the region. How many places can you get towel care and access to a swimming pool? HealthPoint has so much more to offer than other fitness centers. It’s just a great place.”
