Meghan Orr has a simple fitness philosophy. “Fitness is all encompassing. It’s improving your outer body and your inner body. And fitness is for every body.”
Meghan has been a HealthPoint Fitness team member for seven years, finding her way to HealthPoint after giving birth to her son Aiden in 2007 and later from the Alternative School, where she was teaching Zoomba dance classes. She currently is at the front desk part-time, and is a certified group exercise instructor. She is close to earning her personal trainer certification and currently is working toward a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.
Meghan also has designed a new toning exercise class, Chisel. During the COVID stay at home order, the class didn’t miss a beat because she taught Chisel virtually through the HealthPoint Facebook page.
She says HealthPoint’s demographic spans all age groups. “We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable because the benefits from a good fitness program make a positive difference, no matter what your age is. It’s really rewarding to instruct and educate people in the areas of fitness and wellness.”
Educating and instructing also pertains to Meghan’s family. Her parents, Kevin and Ruth Ann Orr, participate in her group exercise classes, and Aiden takes part in Kids CrossFit.
“I’ve had an interesting fitness journey,” Meghan says with a smile. “I’ve learned that it’s important to have not just a healthy family, but a healthy community. We’re here to help with that journey.”
